Just a short walk from the centre of Grantown-on-Spey, this delightful apartment offers a fabulous home for a couple or family as a first purchase, or as a holiday home or investment.
Constructed in approximately 1940, the property has a generous 72 m2 interior space and attractively shaped rooms. Overall, the property will require a little renovation, but with some TLC and upscaling, it will provide an outstanding apartment.
Approached from a small flight of steps to the entrance and a private carpeted staircase to the first floor, the apartment opens into a small hallway with glazed doors. Hard floors are fitted throughout and the joinery is painted in a contemporary grey shade.
The grey-painted living room has two windows that face west, and features a beamed ceiling and an inbuilt seating space. Areas with power outlets have been created in the walls to accommodate AV equipment.
The kitchen overlooks the rear of the property and has grey cabinets and walls tiled in white. There are ample wall and floor cabinets and a worksurface on three walls. The kitchen has a comparatively generous floor area, and with some simple design ideas offers plenty of scope to create a new L-shaped kitchen and a comfortable dining space.
The principal bedroom is pinkish taupe with grey woodwork. It is an attractive and generous space that looks out over the front of the building. A large, glazed wardrobe offers built-in storage.
The second bedroom has a large, deeply set window that faces south and a quirky cater corner, making this room fun and open to many interesting layouts. The third bedroom also has a good shape and overlooks the gardens. Both of these rooms are generously sized and are suitable for bedrooms, but given the large windows and natural light, each also offers an ideal space as a craft room, especially given the apartments inspiring location.
The shower room is a good size and finished with white tiles. The shower enclosure has rain and hand shower heads, a bidet, a WC, and a wash hand basin.
The apartment has a dedicated parking area leading to a private garden with timber fencing. Laid with a lawn and two sheds, the garden has considerable potential and is an outstanding feature of a property with already a great deal to offer.
13 Castle Road is a charming apartment that, with some updating, has all the makings of a delightful and welcoming home for a small family or as a bolt-hole or holiday retreat, especially for someone looking for investment potential.
Benefitting from its easily accessible stunning Highland location, a private garden, and interestingly shaped rooms, this apartment ticks many boxes and offers huge potential at very good value.
