End terrace three-bedroom house, ideal first home close to city centre
This property is well located in the Kinmylies areas of Inverness. It is close to Charleston Academy, the Kings’ Golf Club, and many places to walk, including local woodland and the Caledonian Canal.
Constructed in approximately 1980, the house has a better-than-average Energy Efficiency Rating of C and is in good condition for its age. There is parking available near the property.
The house is accessed via a small, enclosed, neat front garden and a vestibule. Glazed doors and light-coloured walls ensure the ground floor is filled with natural light.
The living room is carpeted and has a neutral colour scheme, a colourful feature wall, and a view to the front of the property. The room has good proportions and plenty of space for furniture for a small family.
The large open-plan kitchen dining room has striking red floor cabinets, tiled walls, dark work surfaces, and hard flooring. The dining area has a dramatic dark brown and gold back wall and French doors leading to the garden. This space is ideal for upgrading to a modern light-filled kitchen dining room with plenty of room for a family who enjoy indoor-outdoor living.
Carpeted stairs lead to the first floor and landing. The three bedrooms are decorated in pale neutral colours. The principal bedroom is spacious and has good natural light, and the second bedroom has an alcove for storage. The third bedroom, currently used for storage, is smaller but still of a good size for a child’s room or a home office.
The shower room has a wet area with an electric shower, WC and wash hand basin, and is finished in light-coloured panels.
The rear garden is accessed from the kitchen and has a large, paved space and a small area of lawn; the garden is enclosed with a timber fence and has a small store and a gate that accesses the front garden and another to the rear of the property. The garden has much potential to be redesigned into a contemporary space for entertaining and relaxing.
24 Millerton Avenue is a good quality house that will make a fabulous home for a young family, especially one looking for their first property. With some decorative upgrading, it has the potential to become a comfortable, contemporary home with the benefit of being in a popular and established community, close to amenities and the centre of Inverness.
